Shading of the outdoor office area for Lenzing AG

Outdoor shading with retractable sun sails
By expanding its shaded outdoor areas, Lenzing AG is once again demonstrating its commitment to modern workplace design and employee satisfaction. An additional space has been created directly adjacent to the office wing, serving as a combined break and work area, equipped with a bespoke LET sun sail.

Design concept
The expansion of Lenzing AG’s sun protection concept demonstrates how modern ‘external shading’ offers not only functional benefits but also aesthetic value.
These custom-designed sun sails provide pleasant shade all day long – whether for short breaks or focused work outdoors.
The delicate sail-like structure complements the modern architecture of the office wing perfectly, without adversely affecting sightlines or lighting conditions.
Thanks to automatic control via weather sensors, the sun sail retracts automatically in windy or rainy conditions – requiring little maintenance and ensuring safe daily operation.

The newly created space is not only a place to relax during breaks, but is also actively used as an outdoor workspace. The sun sail provides reliable protection from the sun, rain and wind, enabling productive work or relaxed conversations – whatever the weather. The space has been seamlessly integrated into the overall design of the office building and offers ample shade outdoors without any visible technical components.

Flexible, reliable and low-maintenance
As with the main site’s canteen, the system impresses with its automatic control: the integrated wind sensor retracts the sail automatically in strong winds, which not only extends the system’s lifespan but also takes the pressure off the office team. Staff can use the space at short notice without having to worry about the sunshade.
