LET Sonnensegel GmbH is an Austrian company specialising in the development, production and distribution of electrically rollable sun sails. Since its foundation in 1999 by Franz Lerchner, LET has developed into a market-leading company in the industry, known for its innovative technologies and tailor-made solutions in the field of sun protection.

History

LET Sonnensegel was founded in 1999 by Franz Lerchner. A milestone in the company’s development was the introduction of a patented internal mechanism in 2005 by Rudolf Steiner. This innovation has had a significant impact on the product range. In 2021, Christian Loidl joined LET and became a partner in 2022. In 2023, the company expanded its focus to include digital sales, enabling it to extend its sales territory to Austria and Germany. In 2024, the product design was adapted to meet market requirements.

Products and technologies

LET sun sails are characterised by their durability (20-30 years) and their patented design, which integrates all technical components into the wave of the sail. This allows for tight tension and makes the sun sail virtually maintenance-free. LET focuses exclusively on electrically rollable sun sails, which sets it apart from other providers on the market.

Market position and competition

LET changed its sales strategy in 2022 to focus exclusively on direct sales, making it unique in the industry. In 2023, the company expanded throughout Germany and Austria.
