Training centre at TORTEC Fire Doors Ltd

At TORTEC Brandschutztor GmbH, the outdoor seating area below has been covered with two freestanding double-triangular sun sails, which provide reliable shelter even in wind and rain. This creates high-quality, weather-protected areas for relaxing breaks and outdoor meetings – individually designed, technically sophisticated and perfectly integrated into the architecture.

Inspired by minimalist aesthetics, the two-panel configuration provides ample shade without compromising on visual elegance. The materials and colours have been carefully chosen to blend in with the natural surroundings.

The new outdoor areas offer course participants a welcome break from the theoretical content. Thanks to the clever positioning of the freestanding double-triangular sun sails, a sheltered space has been created where participants can take a breather, work in groups or enjoy a relaxing break – whatever the weather or time of year.

Shading with character

In the lower section, the outdoor areas are shaded by two freestanding double-triangular sun sails. They span the break area between the green space and the training rooms – a spot that now invites visitors to linger. The central column, which serves a dual purpose, supports both sails and creates a particularly light, almost floating structure.

This is important for companies such as TORTEC: even in heavily frequented areas, the surroundings remain calm and orderly. The delicate elements allow air and light to pass through whilst still providing effective protection from sun, rain and wind. This not only enhances the quality of the environment but also visually enhances the entire company site.
