Traditional-modern build with a timber pergola and made-to-measure sun sail
This house combines fine native timbers with the latest materials and timeless design. The roof overhang was meant to provide shade, but for even more comfort the terrace was completed with a stylish timber pergola and a made-to-measure sun sail. The bespoke solution offers optimal protection from sun and weather without compromising the architectural aesthetic.
Design concept
For a home built on the blend of natural materials and modern construction, a made-to-measure sun sail was developed that unites function, comfort and design.
The sun sail was fitted precisely to the existing timber pergola and blends harmoniously into the home’s open architecture without disturbing its design character.
The made-to-measure sail provides pleasant shade, shelters from light rain and creates a cosy outdoor climate on the terrace, usable all year round.
Integrated into the Loxone home control, the sail runs like a blind – presence-, rain- and wind-controlled, with almost no limits to the automation. Solid stainless-steel parts and the thoroughly made-to-measure build make it a well-judged, long-lasting solution.
