Sun-sail dining at the Weinbergerhaus – weatherproof at 1,272 m in Tyrol
The Weinbergerhaus sits at 1,272 metres above Kufstein, facing the Wilder Kaiser and fully exposed to the elements. The challenge: an outdoor dining area that defies wind, rain and sun – while fully preserving the unique view.

Sun sail for outdoor dining
The Weinbergerhaus, in the heart of the Tyrolean mountains, offers guests an incomparable view of Kufstein and the imposing massif of the Wilder Kaiser. Surrounded by the untouched nature of the Wilder Kaiser reserve, the house stands at 1,272 metres and is fully exposed to the elements. The challenge: a terrace solution that defies wind, rain and sun while preserving the unique view. The answer: an outdoor-dining sun sail by LET.

Design concept
The Weinbergerhaus shows impressively how an innovative outdoor-dining sun sail convinces not only functionally, but also sets new design standards. In an exposed location the individually fitted sun sails enable weather-independent operation and create a year-round feel-good atmosphere for guests.
The generous terrace is now protected year-round from intense sun as well as wind and rain – without losing its open, natural atmosphere.
The interlocking combination of Dreieck, Doppeldreieck and Trapez shapes fits seamlessly into the special setting of the mountain inn and underlines its architectural identity.
Thanks to intelligent control, the sun sail can be adjusted flexibly to suit the weather – a gain for staff and guests alike.

This solution offers not only reliable protection from sun and rain, but also creates a stylish atmosphere for guests who want to enjoy the special ambience.

The shading preserves the view of Kufstein and the Wilder Kaiser – protection that does not disturb the mountain inn's character in the slightest.

Form follows the mountain
Dreieck, Doppeldreieck and Trapez shapes fit seamlessly into the special setting and underline the architectural identity.

Long-lasting and economical
Robust, weatherproof materials last for years – and the targeted shading also lowers the energy demand indoors.
Challenges and solutions
A sustainable, long-lasting solution
The materials used are not only attractive, but also particularly robust. Thanks to the long-lasting construction and weatherproof finish, the sun sail stays reliably in service for years. The targeted shading also helps to reduce energy use indoors by preventing excessive heating from the sun.
